The surgical technique of partial arthroplasty of the hip with the use of a femoral stem and anespheric head is indicated for patients with a femoral neck fracture and with preserved articular cartilage in the acetabular region. Although the longevity of the partial prosthesis depends on the quality of the preserved cartilage at the moment of the intervention, its main advantages are the preservation of the acetabulum as an articular surface and the elimination of the inflammation and slackening reactions due to the wore out polyethylene. Furthermore, a reduction of the intervention time and loss of blood is achieved. The patient may be mobilized immediately after the intervention.
FEATURES
- The partial hip prosthesis consists of two components: a cephalic head that will articulate with the acetabulum and a sleeve to adjust the length of the femoral neck.
- The metallic surface, highly polished, allows reducing the acetabulum-implant friction to the minimun.
- Both the cephalic head and the sleeve are made of titanium alloy (Ti-6AI-4V), which confers the prosthesis a great lightness.

Standard cephalic heads: Diameters from 38 to 56 mm, in 2 mm increments.
Non-spherical cephalic heads: Diameters from 38 to 60 mm, in 1 mm increments.
