The Resorbable Endomedular Plug is intended for cemented hip prosthesis. The conic design permits a perfect centering of the prosthesis and a high resistance to the cement pressure. The slots in the plug wings provide a certain elasticity which guarantee the morphological adjustment to the bone. A small hole at the bottom of the cone permits the evaciation of air and blood residue during the cement introduction.
The available sizes are covering a diaphysal diameter range from 8 to 16 mm. The proper plug size to be used is determined by conic gauges whose diameter is coinciding with the nucleus plug diameter. The gauges have to be introduced using a graduated introducer.
